1984 riots: Sikhs' protests escalate, reach Rahul's residence
While he was carefully treading his way through the interview with him, he was hesitant most of the time in answering straight questions. But, the one mistake that he made was mentioning Congressmen for the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom.
While Sikhs across the country have been protesting vehemently outside the AICC office, they have now shifted their attention to Rahul Gandhi's residence. Their demand, Rahul should name the Congress party members who were involved in it.
Rahul Gandhi had said,"some Congress men were probably involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and they have been punished for it".
The protesters shouted anti-Congress slogans and held up placards, which read, "CBI should question Rahul Gandhi for Congress involvement in 1984 riots".
"We want justice. We want to know who were those people who were involved in the riots," said one of the protesters. They also demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi and even broke through the second barricade that was used to stop them from breaking through.
The protestors also blocked the road in front of his house and said that they would continue with the 'dharna' until they get an answer.
