19-Year-Old Woman Attacked by Man With A Machete In Pune; Locals Save Her

In yet another shocking incident, a man was arrested on Tuesday for attacking a woman with a machete in Pune. The incident took place in the Sadashiv Peth area, and was was caught on CCTV cameras, which has gone viral on social media.

The CCTV footage of the incident shows the man, identified as Shantanu Laxman Jadhav, stopping the woman's scooter and then attacking her with the machete. The woman, identified as Priti Ramchandra, was able to escape the attack by running away, but Jadhav chased her down and continued to attack her.

Locals who saw the attack intervened and were able to restrain Jadhav. He was then handed over to the police.

The police have charged Jadhav with attempt to murder. He is currently in police custody.

The victim's mother said that Jadhav had been harassing her daughter for some time. She said that they had even complained to Jadhav's father about the harassment, but he had not taken any action.
