19-yr-old girl killed in suspected honour killing

, Nov 13: In a suspected case of

, a 19-year-old B.Sc student was allegedly killed by her father after he suspected her of having an affair with a boy belonging to another community, police said here today.

Ashok Sikarwar of Chaugan village was arrested for killing Ruchi, his third and youngest daughter, when she was talking to her boyfriend Sher Singh in a room of her house, Senior Superintendent of Police Shalabh Mathur said.

The victim was talking to her boyfriend in a room.

The incident took place on the night of November 11 when Sikarwar saw the two of them in the room, following which he shot dead Ruchi, he said. Meanwhile, Sher Singh bolted the door from inside and called the police and his relatives, the police said.

Sher Singh has been taken in for questioning, while a case has been registered against Sikarwar and his two sons whom Sher Singh alleges were also involved in the killing, he said.
