19 Bihar Congress MLAs want to end alliance with RJD
Rahul Gandhi met several party legislators from the state on Wednesday and Thursday amid reports that a rebellion was brewing in the Congress' Bihar unit.
At least 19 of the 27 Bihar Congress MLAs reportedly told Congress party vice president Rahul Gandhi to break the alliance with the Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal, "at least for the time being".

As per The Times of India, A large faction of the Congress in Bihar believes that the party's association with Lalu Yadav damages the credibility of the party at a time when it is suffering electoral losses. Notably, the Central Bureau of Investigation had in July filed a corruption case against Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi for alleged irregularities when the Rashtriya Janata Dal president was the Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.

As per the report Gandhi had called senior Congress legislators to Delhi in a damage-control exercise to prevent a section of MLAs from deserting the party.
Congress has 27 MLAs in the state.
