Raipur, November 6, 2025/The 150th anniversary of "Vande Mataram" marks a unique moment of national pride and patriotism for the entire country. Under the guidance of India's Ministry of Culture, this historic milestone will be celebrated through a year-long campaign of special programs across the nation. In Chhattisgarh too, the celebration will unfold in four phases, from village panchayats to the state level, with broad public participation and ceremonial splendor.

The commemoration of 150 years of "Vande Mataram" will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 7, 2025. The national event will be broadcast live on Doordarshan from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Following the Prime Minister's address, the entire nation will join together in a collective rendition of "Vande Mataram." The lyrics and tune of the anthem are available on the official portal vandemataram150.in.

The festival will be organized in four phases: the first from November 7 to 14, 2025; the second from January 19 to 26, 2026; the third from August 7 to 15, 2026 (aligned with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign); and the fourth from November 1 to 7, 2026. Throughout the year, collective renditions of the national song and related activities will take place in districts, blocks, village panchayats, educational institutions, government offices, and social organizations across the state.

Participation of Ministers and Public Representatives Across Districts

In every district of Chhattisgarh, special events will be organized in the presence of ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs and other public representatives. Local artists, students, social institutions, and citizens' groups will be actively involved so that the campaign evolves into a people's movement of national integration and unity.

Special Activities and Creative Programs in Educational Institutions

All schools, colleges, and educational institutions in the state will hold special assemblies and creative competitions on the theme of "Vande Mataram." Essay writing, debates, quiz competitions, poster making, and cultural performances will be organized. With the support of NCC, NSS, Scout-Guide groups, and school bands, musical performances based on patriotic songs and the "Vande Mataram" anthem will be presented. The State Police Band will also perform public concerts featuring "Vande Mataram" and other patriotic melodies, filling public spaces with the spirit of national devotion.

"Vande Mataram" Audio-Video Booths - An Innovative Initiative

"Vande Mataram" audio-video booths will be set up across the state. At these booths, citizens will be able to record and upload their own renditions of the anthem on the portal. The platform will also provide the original lyrics and tune for reference. This initiative will allow people to express their patriotism in their own voice, making the movement more personal and emotionally resonant.
