14-Year-Old Boy Dies Of Rabies After Hiding Dog Bite From Parents

A dog bite might cost a life and here is the proof. In a horrific incident that took place in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, a 14-year-old teenager died after he suffered a dog bite for over a month.

A teenage boy in Ghaziabad died of rabies after he was bitten by a dog. The boy who was scared of getting scolded by his parents hid the matter over a month which turned into a nightmare for the family.

The deceased has been recognised as Sabez. He was taken to government hospitals in Delhi but he was not admitted there for treatment. Later they took him to Bulandshahr for Ayurvedic treatment. However, that too did failed to be fruitful. At last the child breathed his last in an ambulance on his way to Ghaziabad.

The deceased was a resident of Charan Singh colony and a student of class 8.

    The police officials informed that the boy was bitten by the neighbour's dog one-and-a-half months ago but hid it from his parents as he was afraid of their scolding.

    "He contracted rabies and started behaving abnormally and stopped eating on September 1. On being asked, he told his family members that he had been bitten by their neighbour's dog," the police official was quoted as saying.

    According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kotwali zone, Nimish Patil, a complaint has been registered in the matter and strict action will be taken against the dog owner.
