10 Women In Delhi Everyday Get Kidnapped: Arvind Kejriwal Slams BJP Ahead Of Delhi Polls 2025

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has taken a significant step towards empowering women by organising the Delhi Mahila Adalat. This event coincided with the 12th anniversary of the Nirbhaya incident. Kejriwal expressed concerns about women's safety in Delhi, highlighting that despite past movements, women still feel unsafe.

During the Mahila Adalat, Kejriwal criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to ensure women's safety. He stated, "Today women in Delhi are scared to step out of their homes. Why doesn't the police do anything? They are not even able to do one thing - to provide security." His remarks underscored the ongoing challenges faced by women in the capital.

Women's Safety Concerns

Kejriwal pointed out that every day, 17 children and 10 women are kidnapped in Delhi. Despite these alarming statistics, he claimed that BJP does not prioritise women's safety. He emphasised that AAP has successfully addressed issues like electricity, water, and education but criticised BJP's stance on law and order.

The AAP chief also mentioned his personal commitment to women's safety by saying, "I consider you my sister, daughter and mother." To enhance security measures, he highlighted that Delhi now has three lakh CCTV cameras installed along with four lakh street lights.

Political Criticism

Kejriwal accused BJP members of visiting slums only for political gain. He warned residents to be cautious as these areas might face demolition after three months. His comments reflect ongoing political tensions between AAP and BJP regarding governance priorities in Delhi.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also attended the Mahila Adalat event, showing solidarity with Kejriwal's initiative. The gathering aimed to address pressing issues related to women's rights and safety while holding authorities accountable for their responsibilities.

The Mahila Adalat is part of a broader effort by AAP to focus on women's empowerment through initiatives like the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana. These efforts aim at creating a safer environment for women across Delhi.

Kejriwal's statements during this event highlight his party's commitment to addressing critical social issues affecting women in Delhi. By organising such platforms, AAP seeks to engage citizens actively while advocating for necessary changes within society.
