Meghalaya will go the assembly election on February 23 and it will be the first election of the year. Polls will be held in all 60 constituencies of the state. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and Congress president DD Lapang along with 343 candidates are in the fray to contest the poll.
Some of the prominent candidates are - CM, Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh, Congress president Lapang , UDP president Don Kupar Roy, Education minister RC Laloo, former Leader of Opposition and son of PA Sangma Conrad K Sangma and his brother James Sangma.
