Woman Alleges Husband, Five Friends Raped Her On Wedding Night After Drugging, Forced Conversion

A serious case involving allegations of forced religious conversion, sexual assault, fraud and intimidation has surfaced in Hyderabad, where a woman has accused her husband and his relatives of subjecting her to repeated abuse. The complaint, now under police investigation, names six accused, all of whom are currently absconding.

The woman, who was reportedly renamed Nazeera after the alleged conversion, has claimed she was manipulated into a relationship and later coerced into marriage after being blackmailed with objectionable photographs.

How The Woman Met The Accused And What She Alleged Happened

According to the woman's complaint, she first came into contact with the main accused, Nawaz, after he showed interest in a shop she had put up for rent in Kukatpally. Over time, the two became close.

She alleged that Nawaz claimed he had converted to Hinduism and changed his name to Navadurga. She further claimed that this version was also supported by his family, which helped build her trust.

In May 2025, the woman said she was taken to a resort on the pretext of meeting Nawaz's family. However, when no one else arrived, she alleged that Nawaz drugged and raped her. She further claimed that he took photographs during the assault and later threatened to leak them if she refused to marry him.

The woman alleged that the two eventually got married in July and later moved to Begumpet.

Allegations Of Repeated Abuse, Forced Religious Practices And Humiliation

The complainant has alleged that the abuse did not stop after marriage and that she was repeatedly sexually exploited during the course of the relationship.

She claimed that despite Nawaz allegedly presenting himself as someone who had embraced Hinduism, she was later forced to recite the Kalma and made to eat beef, even though she is a vegetarian.

The woman also alleged that she was forced to undergo an abortion. In another disturbing claim, she said she was humiliated in front of family members when Nawaz allegedly tore her clothes in front of his brothers.

In January this year, Nawaz allegedly disappeared and has remained untraceable since then.

"He (Nawaz) used to say there were people who stayed in Dubai, they would kill us, they are searching for us, so we should hide," the victim told the media.

Police Complaint, Zero FIR And Case Transfer

After Nawaz allegedly went missing, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint. However, she alleged that instead of a case of rape and fraud being immediately registered, only a missing person's complaint was initially recorded.

On April 4, Kukatpally police registered a zero FIR and subsequently transferred the matter to Begumpet police, as the alleged incidents took place under that police station's jurisdiction.

The woman's allegations later formed the basis of a more serious criminal case.

Six Accused Booked, All Absconding

Police have now registered a case under Section 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with gang rape, and Section 123, which pertains to causing hurt by means of poison or similar acts with intent to commit an offence.

The case has been registered against six accused, identified as Nawaz, Munnawar, Sohail, Chinnu, Shahrukh and Ismail.

Investigators are probing allegations that the woman was sexually assaulted not only by the main accused but also by his relatives on multiple occasions. All six accused are currently absconding, and further investigation is underway.
