Upset with Telangana call, Seemandhra agitators want separate country
Reddy spoke in favour of a new country with a new parliament saying there is no harm in demanding a separate nation if the Parliament is not concerned with the sentiments of the Seemandhra people. Former TDP minister Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu also backed the demand for a separate state.
A Facebook group on "Seemandhra, a separate country" has also been created.
"If Parliament can't value our sentiments, we want a new nation"
The demand for an independent country of Seemandhra first surfaced in posters which were put up in Nuzvidu of Krishna district last October. They read " Andhra people need protection from fake Gandhis. Our goal is separate country for Seemandhra".
