Traffic Restrictions Across Hyderabad From 11 AM To 6 PM For Shivaji Jayanthi, Know Alternate Routes

Hyderabad is set to witness traffic curbs on Thursday as authorities prepare for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanthi celebrations. The city police announced a series of diversions to manage vehicular movement during the procession and the gathering that will follow near Salarjung Bridge. Officials have urged commuters to remain alert and expect delays along key stretches in the Old City.

Procession route and timings

According to the advisory, the procession will begin at Puranapool Darwaza and proceed towards the Shivaji statue. After the march concludes, a public meeting is scheduled near the Salarjung Bridge.

The restrictions will remain effective between 11 am and 6 pm, during which traffic flow around the surrounding localities will be regulated and, in several cases, rerouted.

Diversions for buses and major roads

RTC buses heading from Shamshabad and Attapur towards Puranapool Darwaza will be diverted at Aramghar and guided towards Chandrayangutta.

Vehicles travelling from Aramghar in the direction of Puranapool Darwaza will instead be redirected at Bahadurpura X Road towards Kishan Bagh and Kamatipura.

Changes around City College and Madina

Traffic coming from Madina towards Bahadurpura will not be allowed to continue on the usual path. Instead, it will be diverted at Goodwill Cafe through Parthiwada to reach Bahadurpura X Road.

Similarly, motorists approaching Puranapool Darwaza from City College will be turned back at City College and routed towards MJ Bridge.

Routes affected near Jiyaguda and Karwan

Commuters moving from 100 Feet Road, Jiyaguda and Karwan towards Puranapool Darwaza will be redirected at Puranapool X Road. They will have to proceed via Jummerath Bazar and MJ Bridge.

Authorities have requested the public to cooperate and plan journeys in advance, advising drivers to use alternate routes to avoid congestion during the procession and the public meeting.
