Telugu Actress Soumya Killampally Arrested: What Is The Case All About?

Prominent social media star Soumya Shetty, aka Soumya Killampally, was arrested by Visakhapatnam cops allegedly in a gold theft case.

After a flat owner named Prasad Babu lodged a complaint over missing 150 tolas of gold ornaments from his residence, the cops launched the investigation, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle.

The team gathered fingerprints from the apartment and scrutinized CCTV footage. This led to suspicion falling on eleven individuals, resulting in the detention and interrogation of three suspects. Soumya was also one of the three suspects.

It was revealed that over the past eight years, Soumya had developed a close bond with Janapala Prasad's daughter Maunika. During her visits to Maunika's home, Soumya allegedly exploited the family's trust by repeatedly sneaking into their bedroom through the bathroom.

On several occasions, Soumya allegedly stole approximately 1kg of gold ornaments. The theft was discovered when Maunika's family returned from a wedding and noticed the missing gold in the bedroom.

Suspicion naturally fell on Soumya, as she was known to frequently enter the bedroom and was aware of the gold stored there.

Police stated that Soumya confessed to the theft, and 74 grams of gold were recovered. Also, she claimed she could not return the remaining stolen gold and allegedly threatened to end her life if pursued by the authorities.
