Telangana Weather Update: Thunderstorms, Rain Likely in Hyderabad and Several Districts Tonight

Several districts of Telangana are expected to witness thunderstorm activity on June 1, 2026, bringing some relief from the intense summer heat that has gripped the state in recent weeks. According to the latest weather forecast, scattered thunderstorms are likely during the evening and night hours in various regions, while heatwave conditions are set to weaken gradually from Monday onwards.

Thunderstorm Activity Expected in Multiple Districts

Weather officials have forecast scattered thunderstorms across a wide stretch of Telangana, particularly during the latter half of the day. Districts likely to experience thunderstorm activity include Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Rangareddy, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial and Kamareddy.

The thunderstorms are expected to develop mainly during the evening and continue into the night. In contrast, many other parts of the state may receive only isolated rainfall.

Hyderabad Likely to Remain Dry During the Day

Residents of Hyderabad are expected to experience largely dry weather through most of the daytime hours. However, conditions could change by evening as scattered thunderstorms are likely to affect a few parts of the city.

The forecast indicates that thunderstorm activity may continue into the night, offering some respite from the prevailing hot weather conditions in the state capital.

Heatwave Conditions Set to Reduce

The weather outlook points to a gradual decline in heatwave intensity across Telangana beginning June 1. While temperatures are still expected to remain above normal in several areas, the severity of heatwave conditions is likely to lessen over the coming days.

The anticipated thunderstorm activity and changing weather pattern are expected to contribute to the easing of extreme heat in many districts.

Northern Telangana to Continue Recording High Temperatures

Despite signs of relief, temperatures are projected to stay high over the next two days, particularly in northern and north-eastern parts of the state.

Maximum temperatures in north-eastern Telangana are expected to range between 41°C and 43°C. Hyderabad is also likely to remain hot, with daytime temperatures forecast to hover between 39°C and 41°C.

Weather officials have advised residents to remain cautious during peak afternoon hours even as conditions gradually improve with the arrival of thunderstorms in several districts.
