Telangana Weather Report: Several Areas Of Hyderabad Sees Intense Rain And Thundershowers

Hyderabad experienced brief but intense thundershowers in several areas on Tuesday. The north-eastern parts of the city saw rain lasting between 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, other regions remained mostly dry, with only occasional light drizzles.

The Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reported that these quick thunderstorms were particularly active in Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sainikpuri, Kapra, Bhongir, Neredmet, Begumpet, Marredpally, and Uppal. Mettuguda recorded the highest rainfall at 21.8 mm, followed by MCH Colony in Musheerabad with 18.8 mm and Osmania University campus with 17.5 mm.

Hyderabad Weather Alerts and Forecast

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad issued a warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph. This alert covered multiple districts including Nizamabad, Jagital, Rajanna Sirsilla, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad itself along with Medchal Malkajgiri and Vikarabad.

According to IMD-Hyderabad's forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours in Hyderabad and nearby districts: "The weather is expected to remain cloudy with short spells of thundershowers along with heavy winds."

Rainfall Measurements

Real-time rainfall data from TSDPS showed that Mettuguda received the most rain on Tuesday with 21.8 mm. Other notable measurements included MCH Colony in Musheerabad at 19.8 mm and Osmania University at 17.8 mm. Additionally, Madhusudhan Nagar in Anandabagh recorded 17.3 mm while Nacharam in Uppal mandal had 17.0 mm.

Despite these showers affecting some parts of the city significantly more than others on Tuesday afternoon; many areas remained relatively unaffected by this sudden change in weather conditions.

The brief yet intense rains brought relief to some areas while leaving others dry under sunny skies throughout much of Tuesday's unpredictable weather patterns across Hyderabad.
