Hyderabad, Oct 5: YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy started an indefinite fast on Saturday to protest the UPA government's decision to split Andhra Pradesh by forming the separate state of Telangana. Reddy, who came out of jail recently, appealed to the people of India to protest against the "injustice".
Sources said that his fasting will continue till October 18, when a huge public rally is likely to be held here.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has also decided to go on a fast-unto-death from Monday.
If ordinance can be reversed, then why not the call on Telangana, asked Jagan
Meawnhile, protests rocked 13 districts of the Seemandhra region on Thursday. Reddy asked why the decision on Telangana couldn't be reserved, given the same central government withdrew a controversial ordinance to shield convicted politicians.
