Telangana Rises as Key Exporter of Aircraft Parts and Satellite Equipment
Telangana's economy is witnessing steady growth, with the state's IT sector leading the charge. In the financial year 2023-24, IT exports from Telangana reached Rs 2.68 lakh crore, reflecting the sector's significant contribution to the state's economy. Additionally, the state exported equipment worth Rs 1.16 lakh crore, further strengthening its position in the global export market.
To sustain this momentum, the Telangana government is implementing plans to transform every district into an export hub by promoting specialized products. This initiative aims to boost employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas, by decentralizing economic growth and expanding export capabilities beyond urban centers.

The IT industry in Telangana currently employs around 9.5 lakh professionals and is rapidly expanding into emerging sectors such as visual effects (VFX), gaming, and animation. These creative technology sectors currently provide employment to approximately 30,000 individuals, with projections estimating a rise to one lakh jobs in the near future.
To support innovation and workforce development, the state has introduced several strategic initiatives, including the proposed 'AI City' in Hyderabad's Future City, the Telangana Innovation Cell (TGIC), and the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH). The government is also establishing startup incubators and a Skills Development University to equip professionals with the expertise needed for evolving industries.
Telangana's multi-sectoral growth strategy underscores its vision of becoming a key player in India's export economy while ensuring sustainable employment opportunities. With a strong emphasis on technology, innovation, and economic decentralization, the state continues to reinforce its position as a major hub for exports and industrial development.
