Telangana Flood: Schools To Remain Closed In Hyderabad Due To Heavy Rain, Water Logging; See Weather Report
All private and government schools in Hyderabad will remain closed following water logging and heavy rains till further orders, said reports. In some areas of the state, a flood like situation has arised and authorities are trying to rescue people left stranded.
A day ago, Telangana Minister of Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy told the media that keeping safety of students in mind, the government has decided to close all educational institutes.

Earlier, the District Collector of Hyderabad had announced that all primary and secondary schools would remain closed on Monday. But due to worsening conditions, the decision to keep schools closed was made.
The weather monitoring department has also predicted heavy rains for next couple of days.
"Due to the forecast of heavy rains in Hyderabad District, all primary and secondary schools, under all managements (government, aided, and Private), are hereby declared a holiday, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the children," District Collector's earlier post on X reads.
Government's Precautionary Measures
Minister Reddy mentioned that district collectors would announce school closures in areas experiencing heavy rainfall.
"The District Collectors will declare schools to be closed at the places where there is heavy rains. Mostly, all schools including private schools in Hyderabad and its surroundings are closed. The government's idea is that children should not go outside in the heavy rains," he said.
PM Modi takes congizance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on phone to take account of the flood situation.
PM Modi has assured both the CMs of full support from the Centre to tackle the challenges posed by heavy rains and floods.
Telanga Chief Minister informed PM Modi about significant damages in Khammam due to severe rainfall. The CM highlighted that immediate relief measures were implemented by the state government without causing any inconvenience or loss of life.
