Telangana Elections: Of 3.17 Crore Voters, 7,689 Are Over 100 Years Old
Telangana has a total number of 3.17 crore voters (3,17,17,389) for the upcoming state polls, the Election Commission on Thursday announced. Interestingly, there are 7,689 people who are over 100 years old.
Addressing a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar said that out of 3.17 crore voters, the male and female populations are nearly equal, with 1.58 crore each. He stated, "We made efforts to make the voter list very inclusive and worked with great zeal with the enrollment of the transistors. So we have been able to register 2557 transgenders. Persons with disabilities on our electors rule are 5.06 lakh," he said at a press conference.

The senior citizens' participation is also noteworthy, with 4.43 lakh voters aged 80 and above, including a remarkable 7,689 individuals aged 100 or more, contributing to the vibrant electoral landscape.
"Another effort was made to include the young voters. So between (age) 18 and 19, the youngest number is 8.11 lakhs, which is also a very encouraging trend," he added.

As per the 'Second Special Summary Revision' (SSR) of photo electoral rolls-2023, there are 1,58,71,493 are male and 1,58,43,339 female voters
In the upcoming elections in 119 constituencies, the demographic breakdown of constituencies includes 88 general seats, 12 reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs), and 19 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs).
