Telangana Cyber Fraud Victims Stranded In Myanmar Safely Return Home

The Government of India has successfully rescued and repatriated 540 Indian nationals, including 24 from Telangana, who were trapped in cyber fraud operations in Myawaddy, Myanmar. The victims returned to Delhi before reaching Hyderabad on March 11 and 12.

Following their safe return, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) launched a thorough investigation into the scam. Based on complaints from ten victims, nine cases have been registered across various Cyber Crime Police Stations (CCPS) in Telangana.

Authorities have identified 15 agents and intermediaries responsible for recruiting victims into the fraudulent scheme. So far, eight suspects have been arrested, while efforts are underway to track down the remaining individuals. Officials are working to dismantle the network involved in this scam and take strict legal action.

The case highlights the growing threat of international cyber fraud networks that lure individuals with promises of high-paying jobs abroad, only to exploit them in illegal operations. Law enforcement agencies continue to monitor and crack down on such scams to prevent more people from falling victim. The TGCSB urges job seekers to exercise caution and verify employment opportunities before accepting offers from unknown sources.
