Telangana Chemical Factory Explosion: At Least 5 Dead In Sangareddy District

At least five persons have lost their lives, and ten others sustained injuries following an explosion in the reactor SB organics Limited at Chandur village of Sangareddy district in Telangana on Wednesday. At least 14 persons have been shifted to MNR Hospital, while seven others have been rushed to the Government Hospital in Sangareddy.

According to reports, several individuals remain trapped, indicating a potential increase in the death toll. Reports from the scene suggest that approximately 50 individuals were present in the building during the explosion.

Images from the site shows the extent of the blast, with one photo showing a smoldering heap of debris emitting smoke, against the backdrop of the setting sun, casting a fiery orange glow. Other images show the bodies of some of the deceased individuals.

Among the casualties is believed to be the factory manager. Local media reports have expressed concerns regarding the possibility of another reactor explosion in the building, prompting authorities to evacuate individuals from neighboring areas.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy convened a meeting with officials to assess the aftermath of the reactor blast incident. According to reports, the fire accident resulted from the reactor explosion within the industry premises. In response, the Chief Minister instructed the fire department officials to expedite rescue operations and contain the fire.

CM Revnath has further directed the Sangareddy district authorities to ensure that those injured in the blast receive adequate medical attention. He also conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, Telangana Governor CP Radhakrishnan expressed deep shock and sorrow over the chemical factory fire. He extended heartfelt condolences to the affected families and urged the state administration to utilize all available resources to support those affected by the incident.
