Telangana Braces For 4 Days Of Rain As IMD Issues Thunderstorm Alert Till June 5

Residents across Telangana are likely to experience a significant change in weather over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting widespread rain, thunderstorms, lightning and squally winds across the state. The weather department has warned that unstable conditions are expected to continue until June 5, offering relief from the intense heat that gripped the region in recent weeks.

IMD Places Telangana Under Yellow Alert

In anticipation of the changing weather pattern, IMD Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for multiple districts across Telangana. The alert will remain in effect until Friday, June 5, as thunderstorms accompanied by rain and lightning are expected in several parts of the state.

The forecast comes after weeks of scorching temperatures. Earlier, maximum temperatures in some areas had crossed 46 degrees Celsius. However, recent weather activity has already begun reducing the heat levels.

According to data released by the Telangana Development Planning Society, Nalgonda recorded the state's highest maximum temperature at 43.8 degrees Celsius on Monday. In Hyderabad, Maredpally registered the highest temperature at 41.6 degrees Celsius.

Hyderabad Likely to Witness Rain and Thundershowers

The state capital is also expected to receive rainfall during the forecast period. IMD Hyderabad has predicted rain and thundershowers in the city until Friday, along with partly cloudy skies.

The expected rainfall is likely to provide relief from the prevailing summer conditions and may help bring daytime temperatures down further.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious, especially during periods of lightning activity and strong winds.

Weather Enthusiast Predicts Storm Activity in City

Adding to the forecast, weather analyst T. Balaji, popularly known for his accurate weather updates, predicted storm activity in parts of Hyderabad later in the day.

Balaji also indicated that scattered storms could affect northern and western parts of Hyderabad during the evening and night hours.

With both IMD Hyderabad and independent weather forecasters warning of thunderstorms and rain over the next four days, residents are being advised to monitor weather updates before travelling. Sudden showers, gusty winds and lightning could impact road conditions and outdoor activities across several districts.

The rainfall is expected to continue intermittently until June 5, bringing a welcome break from the extreme summer temperatures experienced across Telangana.
