The Congress's Six Ingredients For Success In Telangana
At the heart of the Congress party's campaign were six transformative promises, dubbed as the "six guarantees":
Mahalakshmi: This initiative aimed to empower women by providing them with a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500.
Rythu Bharosa: Recognizing the resilience of farmers, the Congress pledged an annual support of Rs. 15,000 to farmers and tenant farmers, along with Rs. 12,000 for agricultural laborers and a Rs. 500 bonus for paddy crops.
Gruha Jyothi: To ensure access to essential utilities, the Congress committed to providing 200 units of free electricity to all households.
Indiramma Indlu: Addressing the housing needs of the underprivileged, the Congress promised to provide house sites and Rs. 5 lakh to those without their own homes, while also honoring Telangana movement fighters with 250 square yards plots.
Yuva Vikasam: Recognising the importance of education, the Congress pledged to provide Vidya Bharosa Cards worth Rs. 5 lakh to students and establish a Telangana International School in every district.
Cheyutha: Demonstrating its commitment to social welfare, the Congress promised a monthly pension of Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 10 lakh as part of Rajiv Arogyasri insurance.
