Rythu Bandhu Scheme 2024: Farmers Anxious Over Deposits, Eligibility Changes
Farmers across Telangana are eagerly expecting the disbursement of crop input assistance under the Rythu bandhu scheme. Despite government orders to deposit funds promptly, many farmers, particularly those owning more than 3 acres of land, are yet to receive their due. Officials have assured that these pending payments will be processed soon.
The delay in disbursing funds under the Rythu bandhu scheme, especially for tenant farmers, has raised concerns. The current practice of prioritising landowners for fund allocation has resulted in only farmers with 2 to 3 acres of land receiving the assistance thus far.

Authorities have clarified that only farmers owning land exceeding 5 acres will be eligible for the Rythubandhu scheme benefits. To spread awareness about this criterion, awareness campaigns are being conducted.
Despite official assurances of funds being deposited into every farmer's account by the end of the month, doubts linger among the farming community. There are suspicions of fraudulent activities, with some farmers allegedly forging documents or making false claims to avail benefits.
In response to these concerns, agricultural authorities are diligently compiling a list of eligible farmers to be submitted to the treasury. They reaffirm that all eligible farmers will receive their Rythubandhu funds by the end of the month. Furthermore, in the upcoming season, only farmers with land holdings of up to 5 acres will receive Rs. 15,000 per acre under the Rythu bandhu scheme.
