Pushpa 2 Stampede: Telangana Imposes Ban On Actor-Led Special Shows

Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced on Friday that the state government would no longer permit special shows for leading actors. The decision follows the tragic death of a 39-year-old woman, Revathi, during a stampede-like situation at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad's RTC X Crossroads on December 4.

Expressing his condolences, the minister stated,"The death of a woman in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre has deeply pained me. I extend heartfelt condolences to her family. From now on, special shows will not be allowed in the state. Is it right for actors to visit theatres when huge crowds gather for such events?"

Reddy also emphasized that the state government would take strict action against those responsible for the incident and implement stringent regulations to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The tragedy occurred during special screenings of Pushpa 2: The Rule in select theatres across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Bengaluru. Actor Allu Arjun visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad to watch the film with fans, which led to overcrowding and chaos. Revathi, a 39-year-old woman, lost her life, and her nine-year-old son, Sri Tej, is currently undergoing treatment.

Allu Arjun's team has reached out to the victim's family, while the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, expressed their grief and pledged support to the family.

Pushpa 2: The Rule directed by Sukumar and featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, released on December 5 to widespread anticipation.
