Moghalpura SBI ATM Burglary: Police Stated Panipuri Vendor Attempted Burglary to Repay Online Gambling Debt
Moghalpura police apprehended the accused involved in the SBI ATM burglary reported on February 15, 2025. SBI Shalibanda Branch Manager Syed Mohammad Rafi filed a complaint after discovering the ATM was damaged.

CCTV footage revealed the suspect entered the ATM at 3:50 AM, attempted to break open the machine, and stole only a cash retract box containing rejected and counterfeit notes. Despite extensive damage to the ATM, the cash cassettes with ₹7.7 lakh remained intact. Police launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the accused.
Accused Identified and Arrested in SBI ATM Burglary
Moghalpura police arrested Honmane Kashinath Kashi (24), a panipuri vendor from Aliyabad, Hyderabad, for attempting an ATM burglary. Investigations revealed he was deep in online gambling debt of ₹30 lakh and resorted to crime to repay loans.
On February 15 at 3:50 AM, he broke into the SBI ATM in Shalibanda, forcefully opened the machine, and took a cash box-only to find it empty. Frustrated, he discarded it in a garbage bin. Police tracked him down and arrested him.
