KCR Wanted BJP's Friendship: PM Modi At A Rally In Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of trying to strike a deal with the BJP but the saffron party turned down his proposal.

Speaking at a rally in Mahabubabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "KCR realised the increasing power of BJP much earlier. For a long time, he was making an effort to strike a friendship with the BJP. Once, when he came to Delhi, KCR met me and made the same request. But BJP can never work against the wishes of the people of Telangana. Ever since BJP turned down KCR, BRS has been baffled. The party doesn't lose any opportunity to abuse me. BRS knows that Modi will never let it anywhere near BJP. This is Modi's guarantee..."

This is the second time in one month that the PM has said that the KCR had tried to befriend with the BJP. At a rally in October in Nizambad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

"When BJP won 48 seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, KCR needed support. Before this election, he used to welcome me at the airport, but later suddenly he stopped doing so. After the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, KCR came to meet me in Delhi and said that he wanted to join NDA. He also asked me to extend support to him. I told him (KCR) that due to his deeds Modi cannot be associated with him," ANI quoted the PM in a tweet.

However, the PM, in Mahabubabad, equated the BRS with Congress and said, "The four wheels and the steering of BRS' 'car' are no different from the 'hand' of Congress. Both these parties indulge in appeasement on the basis of religion. Both of them boosted corruption. Both of them promoted the dynasty. Both of them took appeasement to new heights. Wherever both these parties remained (in power), law and order got destroyed. Both parties betrayed Dalits and BC community. It is only BJP that is truly empowering the tribal community and SC community..."

Both Congress and KCR are equally culpable for the destruction of Telangana. "So, the people of Telangana can't let in another disease after ousting one - I have seen this everywhere in the state. The trust of Telangana is in the BJP. You have determined that the next CM of Telangana will be from BJP. The BJP has promised you that the first BJP CM in Telangana will be from the BC community (Backward Class)," he added.

The single-phase voting for 119 Assembly seats in Telangana will be held on November 30.
