Andhra: Junior cop campaigns for Congress, suspended

Hyderabad, April 19: A junior police officer was suspended on Friday for allegedly violating election code of conduct and also service rules by allegedly campaigning for the Congress party lats month.

B Raju, a sub-inspector attached to Kataram Police Station here, was suspended by Karimnagar Range DIG, District Collector M Veerabrahmaiah said in a release in Karimnagar. Raju allegedly participated in an election campaign of Congress on March 11 asked the people to vote for the party.

AAP releases candidates list for LS and assembly polls

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has recently released its candidate list for Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies in the state. While social activist K Ramam will be the AAP candidate from Vishakhapatnam, B B Dhanaraju will contest from Araku, a seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.

The party has fielded Madilla Srinivas from Vizag East, BV Ramana Rao from Vizag West, Abdul Muneer from Vizag South, Rajesh Kumar from Araku and SS Gupta from Gajuwaka.
