IPL 2026 SRH vs KKR: Hyderabad Police Issue Traffic Curbs, Alternate Routes Suggested For Uppal Stadium Match

Hyderabad is set for a high-voltage IPL clash on Sunday, May 3, but fans heading to the stadium have been advised to plan their travel carefully as major traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place across key routes in the city. The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, with congestion expected from noon until midnight.

Traffic curbs around Uppal stretch

Authorities have flagged heavy traffic movement on the Nagole-Uppal-Habsiguda and Boduppal-Uppal-Ramanthapur-Amberpet corridors. Motorists have been urged to avoid these stretches and opt for alternative routes to minimise delays.

Restrictions will be imposed on heavy vehicles including lorries, trucks, dumpers, tippers, water tankers, RMC vehicles, JCBs, private buses and tractors. These curbs are aimed at easing congestion near the stadium and surrounding junctions.

Diversions for incoming routes

Vehicles travelling from Ghatkesar towards Uppal will be diverted at HMDA Uppal Bhagayath towards Nagole and LB Nagar. Similarly, traffic coming from LB Nagar will be redirected at Nagole Metro Station towards Boduppal, Chengicherla and Cherlapally.

Commuters travelling from Tarnaka and Ramanthapur will also face diversions, with routes adjusted through Habsiguda, Nacharam, NFC Rotary and Cherlapally to manage the flow.

For those travelling between Warangal and Hyderabad via Uppal, officials have recommended using the Outer Ring Road through Ghatkesar or Abdullapurmet to avoid congestion near the match venue.

The encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will begin at 3:30 pm on Sunday. Fans can watch the match live on Star Sports channels, while live streaming will be available on JioHotstar.
