Hyderabad Weather Alert: Will It Rain In Telangana Capital Today?
At least seven people have been killed due to heavy rains in Hyderabad after a retaining wall at an under-construction apartment came crashing down in the Bachupally area on Tuesday.
Many areas in the city experienced waterlogging, resulting in traffic congestion on Tuesday evening. Officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said that Disaster Relief Force (DRF) teams were deployed to clear waterlogging and fallen trees across the city.

Miyapur witnessed the highest rainfall, measuring 13.35 cm, while other areas like Yousufguda, Koti, Gachibowli, Chandanagar, and Shaikpet also saw heavy showers. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded an average rainfall of 3.4 cm until 9 pm.
The South Central Railway (SCR) cancelled five MMTS trains due to the rain.
7 Deaths
As per Bachupally police, seven people who died in the wall collapse incident were migrant workers from Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Their bodies were retrieved early Wednesday morning from beneath the rubble using an excavator, the police said.

The heavy downpour has given relief to people and the Regional Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains for the next few days.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers very likely to occur at a few places over Telangana on Wednesday, the RMD said.
The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD) forecasts thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) to likely occur at isolated places in the following districts of Telangana: Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool on May 10.
