Hyderabad Traffic Advisory for Mahila Sadassu On June 9: Key Diversions, Road Closures and Routes To Avoid

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Mahila Sadassu programme scheduled at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on June 9, 2026. With a large gathering expected at the venue, authorities have warned of significant traffic congestion across several key roads in and around Secunderabad and Begumpet during the afternoon and evening hours.

Officials have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, opt for alternate routes where possible and make use of Metro Rail services to avoid delays.

Major Roads to Witness Restrictions

According to the advisory issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-1, Malkajgiri, vehicular movement will be restricted on the stretch between Tivoli X Roads and Plaza X Roads, which will remain closed to traffic.

Motorists have been advised to avoid travelling through routes connecting Panjagutta, Greenlands, Begumpet and Parade Grounds. Traffic police have also requested commuters to stay away from SP Road, MG Road, RP Road and SD Road between 2 pm and 9 pm due to anticipated congestion linked to the event.

Heavy traffic build-up is expected at several important junctions including Sangeeth X Roads, YMCA X Roads, Patny X Roads, SBI X Roads, Plaza, CTO Junction, Brooke Bond Junction, Tivoli Junction, Sweekar Upakar Junction, Secunderabad Club, Tadbund X Roads, Balamrai X Roads, Rasoolpura, Begumpet and Paradise.

Diversions Announced Across Secunderabad

To manage traffic flow, police have put several diversion plans in place.

Vehicles travelling from Begumpet towards Sangeeth X Roads will be diverted at CTO X Roads through Balamrai, Brooke Bond, Tivoli, Sweekar Upakar, YMCA and St John's Rotary before proceeding towards Sangeeth X Roads.

Traffic coming from Karkhana and Jubilee Bus Station towards SBI and Patny will be rerouted at Sweekar Upakar via YMCA, Clock Tower and Patny. An alternative route through Tivoli, Brooke Bond, Balamrai and CTO has also been provided.

Motorists travelling from RP Road towards SBI X Roads will be diverted at Patny X Roads and directed towards Paradise.

Similarly, vehicles moving from Sangeeth X Roads towards Begumpet will be rerouted through YMCA, Clock Tower, Patny, Paradise, CTO and Rasoolpura before reaching their destination.

Additional Traffic Management Measures

Traffic approaching Tivoli from Bowenpally and Tadbund will be diverted at Brooke Bond towards CTO, Ranigunj and Tank Bund.

Vehicles from Patny will not be permitted to proceed towards SBH and Sweekar Upakar. Instead, they will be directed through Clock Tower and YMCA or alternatively via Paradise and CTO.

Traffic travelling from RTA Trimulgherry and Karkhana towards Plaza will be diverted at Tivoli through Sweekar Upakar, YMCA, Brooke Bond, Balamrai and CTO. Police added that if congestion increases around Tivoli Junction and Secunderabad Club, additional diversions will be implemented towards Bowenpally Market and AOC.

Police Advise Early Travel and Use of Metro Services

The traffic police have advised passengers heading to railway stations and bus terminals to begin their journeys well in advance to avoid delays caused by congestion around the event venue. Authorities have also encouraged commuters to utilise Hyderabad Metro Rail services wherever feasible.

Police said separate arrangements have been made for buses attending the programme, including designated parking areas and passenger drop-off points.
