Hyderabad Regional Ring Road Northern Stretch Gets Fresh NHAI Tenders For ₹9,362 Crore Project

The Centre has moved ahead with the long-pending northern stretch of Hyderabad's Regional Ring Road (RRR), with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issuing fresh tenders for two major construction packages covering more than 161 km. The latest notification comes after the project structure was revised from five packages to two, paving the way for the development of a six-lane greenfield regional expressway around the city.

The northern corridor will connect Girmapur in Sangareddy district with Tangadpally in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. Officials estimated the total civil construction cost of the project at ₹9,362.4 crore.

NHAI Restructures Hyderabad RRR Into Two Packages

Under the revised plan, Package-1 will cover an 83.518 km stretch between Girmapur and Pragnapur in Siddipet district. The estimated cost for this section has been pegged at ₹4,918.71 crore.

Package-2 will span 78 km from Pragnapur to Tangadpally at a projected cost of ₹4,443.69 crore.

The fresh tender notification was released on Wednesday after authorities decided to reduce the number of construction packages from five to two in a bid to streamline execution and bidding.

Online Bids Invited For Expressway Construction

NHAI has invited separate online bids for both packages of the project. According to the tender schedule, interested bidders must submit their proposals before 11 am on July 7.

Technical bids submitted by companies will be opened on July 8.

The authority stated in the notification that the project will be implemented under the Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) annuity model, also referred to as the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

Northern Corridor To Pass Through Key Telangana Areas

The northern section of the Regional Ring Road is expected to pass through several important locations surrounding Hyderabad, including Toopran, Narsapur, Jagdevpur, Nawabpet and Sansthan Narayanpuram.

The proposed greenfield expressway is aimed at improving regional connectivity around Hyderabad while easing pressure on existing roads and facilitating faster movement between districts surrounding the state capital.

Hyderabad RRR Seen As Major Infrastructure Push

The Regional Ring Road project has been viewed as a major infrastructure initiative for Telangana, especially for areas located beyond the Outer Ring Road limits. Officials expect the corridor to boost logistics movement, industrial growth and connectivity across northern parts of the Hyderabad metropolitan region.

With fresh tenders now issued and bidding timelines announced, the northern stretch of the RRR has moved a step closer to execution after several rounds of planning and restructuring.
