Hyderabad: Nagarjuna Booked In Connection With N Convention Centre Financial Misconduct

A complaint has been filed against renowned actor Nagarjuna Akkineni at the Madhapur police station. The allegation involves financial misconduct related to the N Convention Centre in Hyderabad. Bhaskara Reddy lodged the complaint, claiming that Nagarjuna has gained improperly from the venue. Reddy insists that these funds should be retrieved and returned to the government.

Circle Inspector Krishna Mohan mentioned that they are yet to register a case. "We will enquire into the issue after taking legal opinion. A case has not been registered yet," he stated. This situation arises after the recent demolition of the N Convention Centre.

Land Ownership Dispute

In August, Nagarjuna defended his ownership of the land where the centre was constructed, asserting it is Patta land. He highlighted a judgement from Andhra Pradesh's Special Court under the Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, which dismissed claims of encroachment on Tummidikunta Lake.

Nagarjuna expressed his concerns about the ongoing issues through a post on X. "Dear all, fans and well-wishers, news about celebrities can often be exaggerated and speculated for effect. I would like to reiterate that the land on which N Convention has been built is a Patta Documented land. Not even one cent of the land beyond that has been encroached upon," he wrote.

Demolition Controversy

The demolition of N Convention Hall was carried out despite existing court orders, which Nagarjuna described as 'unlawful'. Officials from HYDRAA and local police were present during this process, citing that the land is within the Full Tank Level (FTL) zone as justification for their actions.

Madhapur Deputy Commissioner of Police reported, "HYDRAA officials have started demolishing the N Convention Hall this morning, and we have deployed police forces to ensure the demolition is carried out smoothly." The presence of law enforcement aimed to maintain order during this contentious event.
