Hyderabad MMTS Passengers Demand More Trains Between Ghatkesar And Bharatnagar
Passengers travelling on the Hyderabad MMTS corridor between Ghatkesar and Bharatnagar have raised concerns over the limited train connectivity on the route, saying the operation of only one MMTS service is causing major inconvenience to daily commuters. Students, IT employees and daily wage workers said the present schedule does not align with office and college timings, making regular travel difficult.

Passengers demand increase in MMTS trips
Commuters said they have repeatedly appealed to railway authorities to introduce at least 10 MMTS services every day on the corridor, including five services in the morning and five in the evening. However, they alleged that no concrete steps have been taken so far.
Passengers have also suggested that the existing Ghatkesar-Ramachandrapuram service should instead terminate at Bharatnagar station. According to them, this move would help railway authorities operate more trips on the route and improve connectivity for thousands of commuters.
At present, the MMTS service departs from Ghatkesar at 7.30 am and reaches Lingampalli at 9.15 am. The train passes through Charlapalli, Neredmet, Ammuguda, Bhoodevinagar, Suchitra Centre, Ferozguda, Sanathnagar, Bharatnagar, Borabanda, Hitec City, Hafeezpet and Chandanagar before proceeding to Ramachandrapuram.
Office workers say timings are inconvenient
Passengers said the existing schedule offers little benefit for office commuters, especially those working in Hyderabad's IT corridor. The return service starts from Ramachandrapuram and reaches Lingampalli at 5 pm before arriving in Ghatkesar at 7 pm. The train later continues up to Sanathnagar and returns to Ghatkesar by 10 pm.
According to commuters, the present return service beginning from Tellapur after 5 pm does not help employees who need to reach offices earlier in the day. They urged railway authorities to begin services from Tellapur at 6.20 am so that passengers can arrive at workplaces on time.
Better connectivity to Charlapalli sought
Passengers also pointed out that increasing MMTS trips up to Bharatnagar would improve accessibility to Charlapalli for people living in western parts of Hyderabad. They said commuters travelling between Bharatnagar and Lingampalli can already depend on existing services originating from Nampally and Falaknuma, meaning additional trips on the Ghatkesar corridor would not create inconvenience for other passengers.
Daily travellers said improved MMTS connectivity is essential as more people depend on suburban rail services for affordable and quicker transportation across the city. They urged railway authorities to take immediate steps to expand services on the route and ease travel difficulties faced by commuters every day.
