Helicopter tourism services connecting Hyderabad, Somasila and Srisailam will begin from April 9, opening up a new travel format for tourists in Telangana. The project is being positioned as a unique tourism offering that blends fast travel with panoramic sightseeing.
According to Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, the service is expected to deliver a memorable journey for visitors by showcasing some of the region's most striking natural landscapes.
Tourists To Get Aerial Views Of Krishna River And Nallamala Forest
The helicopter route is expected to give passengers an aerial view of the Krishna River along with the lush green Nallamala forest region, adding a strong visual attraction to the experience.
Ahead of the launch, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao visited Somasila to review the progress of helipad construction and inspect other on-ground arrangements linked to the service rollout. Preparations are being carried out with the support of private aviation agencies, which will assist in operational execution of the project.
Same-Day Trip To Include Somasila Backwaters, Boating And Srisailam Temple Visit
As per the proposed plan, the helicopter journey will begin in Hyderabad and first land at Somasila, where tourists will be able to enjoy the scenic backwaters. From there, the tour will continue onward to Srisailam.

In Srisailam, tourists can visit the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, one of the major pilgrimage sites in the region, before returning to Hyderabad later the same day.
More Helicopter Tourism Routes Planned Across Telangana
The government is also looking beyond the Hyderabad-Somasila-Srisailam route and is planning to expand similar helicopter tourism services to other well-known destinations across the state.
Among the places under consideration are Nagarjuna Sagar, Ramappa Temple and Nizam Sagar. If implemented, these routes could further strengthen Telangana's tourism offerings by combining faster access with a high-end sightseeing experience.
