Cheddi Gang Back In Action: Hyderabad School Robbed, Exam Cheating Surfaces In Ongole
Hyderabad is grappling with a resurgence of Cheddi Gang thefts, sparking concerns among residents. A notable theft occurred at a private school in Hafizpet, within Miyapur police station's jurisdiction, on a recent Saturday midnight. The thieves, identifiable by their unique attire of undergarments (cheddis) and armed with weapons, stole Rs. 7.85 lakhs from the school office's counter.
The incident, captured on CCTV cameras, prompted an immediate police investigation following a complaint by the school management.The return of the Cheddi Gang, after a period of dormancy, has alarmed locals. Known for their distinct modus operandi, the gang had evaded public attention until this recent heist brought them back into focus. The police are analyzing CCTV footage as part of their intensive investigation to apprehend the culprits.

In a separate incident, Ongole faced scrutiny over examination integrity during the AP Group-1 prelims exams at Quis Engineering College on Vengamukkapalem Road. A candidate was caught cheating using a mobile phone, despite stringent checks by police at examination centers. The alertness of an invigilator led to the candidate's arrest, highlighting the need for stricter surveillance in exam venues.
