Father-son duo arrested for raping, impregnating minor girl

Hyderabad, Aug 13: A father-son duo were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping and "impregnating" a 17-year-old girl, from neighbouring Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, police said.

The duo allegedly raped the victim a couple of months ago in Basheerabad mandal of the district.

After due course of investigation, police arrested one Ashok Kumar Goud and his father Kashappa Goud, both are toddy sellers, ASP (Tandur Sub-Division) Chandana Dipti said.

Ashok Kumar had sexual intercourse with the minor girl, who worked as a maid at his house, on the pretext of marrying her, Basheerabad SI Chaturvedi said.

Later, Ashok went to another village after which the girl inquired about him from his father Kashappa, who allegedly raped her thereafter, the SI said.

A complaint was lodged by the victim. "The girl was sent for medical examination and she is now seven-month pregnant," the SI said adding that they had registered a case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act.

Further probe is underway.
