The clips of the tremors have hit the social media sites. In a few videos, people are seen coming out of the house out of fear.

Telangana is classified under Seismic Zone II, which is considered a low-intensity zone. India is divided into four seismic zones: Zone II, Zone III, Zone IV, and Zone V. Zone V experiences the highest seismic activity, while Zone II has the least. Approximately 59% of India's landmass is susceptible to earthquakes of varying intensities.

On November 28, Jammu and Kashmir experienced an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale at 4:19 pm. The epicentre was located in Afghanistan at a latitude of 36.49 degrees north and longitude of 71.27 degrees east, with a depth of 165 km.

Social media users shared their experiences during the Telangana quake. One user mentioned waking up due to tremors around 7:25 am, while another noted feeling the earthquake in Hanamkonda and Warangal for about three seconds. Some posts even suggested that tremors were felt as far as Maharashtra.

A user on platform X commented on this being the first significant earthquake in Telangana in two decades, with Hyderabad also experiencing tremors. Another post highlighted that this was among the strongest quakes to hit Mulugu.

The recent seismic events highlight India's vulnerability to earthquakes across various regions. While some areas are more prone than others, preparedness and awareness remain crucial for mitigating potential impacts.

However, there are no casualties or major damages.
