Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Shares Lunch with Beneficiary Family of "Fine Rice" Scheme

The "Fine Rice" distribution scheme through Fair Price Shops in Telangana has already set a benchmark in ensuring food security for economically weaker sections across the country. Taking this initiative a step further, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a unique outreach programme titled 'Lunch with Beneficiary Families' on Sunday in Sarapaka village, located in Burgampadu mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Following his participation in the Srirama Navami rituals at the renowned Sita Ramachandraswamy temple in Bhadrachalam, the Chief Minister visited the residence of Buram Srinivas, a beneficiary of the Fine Rice scheme. During his visit, he shared a meal with the family and interacted with them to understand their daily life and how they have benefited from the government's welfare schemes.

While discussing the quality of rice being supplied, the homemaker Tulasamma shared that her family previously avoided using coarse rice distributed earlier. She expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the current supply of fine rice through the Public Distribution System (PDS), stating that her family now enjoys their meals more with the improved rice quality. She thanked the Chief Minister for providing fine rice at an affordable price every month to poor households.

The Chief Minister also asked the family about other welfare initiatives such as the free power supply of up to 200 units and the provision of cooking gas cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 500. Tulasamma acknowledged the positive impact of these schemes on their household budget. She further highlighted how the provision of free bus travel has been especially helpful for working women, making daily commuting easier and more economical.

The interaction reflects the state government's emphasis on direct engagement with citizens and evaluating the grassroots impact of its welfare schemes.
