Allu Arjun Walks Out After Spending A Night In Jail In Stampede Incident

After spending a night in jail, actor Allu Arjun walked out of Hyderabad Central Jail on Saturday morning. He had secured an interim bail in the Sandhya theatre incident on Friday evening.

While the actor was sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a lower court in Telangana, the Telangana High Court granted him bail upon the furnishing of Rs 50,000 bond.

Allu Arjun Granted Interim Bail After Sandhya Theatre Incident

The incident occurred on December 4 when Allu Arjun attended a screening of his film "Pushpa 2" at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A large crowd gathered to see him, leading to chaos. Police alleged that his actions contributed to the death of Revathi and injuries to her son. They claimed that his appearance from the sunroof of his vehicle attracted more people, causing a rush.

Allu Arjun's lawyer, Ashok Reddy, criticised the delay in releasing the actor despite having a court order. He stated, "They received an order copy from High Court but despite that, they didn't release the accused (Allu Arjun)...they will have to answer...this is illegal detention, we will take legal action...as of now he has been released."

Reactions and Support

Several political figures and film personalities voiced their support for Allu Arjun following his arrest. Union Minister Ashwini Viashnaw and Bharat Rashtra Samithi's KTR were among those who condemned the arrest. Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Varun Dhawan also expressed solidarity with him.

Police reported that despite warnings about the large crowd, Allu Arjun stayed inside the theatre for over two hours. They argued that adequate police presence was there, but his actions led to the unfortunate event. His private security allegedly pushed people aside to clear a path for his vehicle.

On December 7, during a success meet for "Pushpa 2," Allu Arjun expressed shock over the incident and announced financial aid for Revathi's family. He said, "The incident that took place in the Sandhya theatre is very unfortunate...I'm shocked. It took me hours to process it and respond to the incident. I couldn't process it psychologically. It took me around 10 hours."

Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, Allu Arjun's father-in-law, was present at the jail to receive him upon his release. The actor's legal team plans to pursue further action regarding what they termed as illegal detention due to the delay in his release after bail was granted.
