Telugu Actor Mohan Babu Attacks Media Persons In Hyderabad

In a recent incident that has sparked widespread condemnation, film actor Mohan Babu and his security personnel launched an assault on journalists in Jalpally, Hyderabad. The media was there to report on a dispute involving Mohan Babu's family when they were unexpectedly attacked. The assailants not only physically assaulted the journalists but also hurled verbal abuses at them, resulting in injuries to representatives from TV9 and TV5. This act of aggression has led to a demand for a public apology from Mohan Babu and calls for immediate governmental intervention.

The Telangana State Video Journalist Association was quick to denounce the assault on reporters and video journalists at Mohan Babu's residence. They issued a statement highlighting the irony of the situation, pointing out that journalists were only present due to information leaks from within Mohan Babu's family.

Actor Mohan Babu Attacks Media Journalists In Hyderabad

The statement read, "How do we know about the panchayat held in his house by the disciplined Mohan Babu? It is because of the leaks you give. Mohan Babu's attack on the media representatives who came to cover the news at your house is a proof of your degradation. When you want to rise in the society, well. When you want to earn money, you need us, if your family members don't give us leaks, why do we come?" This reflects the crucial role of the media in society and underlines the unjustifiable nature of the attack.

Government and Public Response Demanded

Mohan Babu has been urged to publicly apologize for his actions, highlighting the severity of the assault in the presence of law enforcement as an alarming indicator of the safety of journalists in the area. The Association of Video Journalists has called for significant repercussions for the attackers, emphasizing the need for a governmental and law enforcement response to this infringement on media freedom.

The TWJF (Telangana Working Journalists Federation) has also issued a statement condemning the aggression against media personnel by Mohan Babu. They emphasized the media's role as a vital link between the government and the public and reiterated that journalists carry out their duties with a commitment to truth and professional ethics. The federation has requested that Mohan Babu issue a public apology to the media representatives affected by this incident and has appealed to the police to take legal action against him.

Legal Actions and Investigations

In light of the attack, a legal case has been filed against Mohan Babu, concerning the assault on a reporter and a cameraman undergoing Ayyappa initiation. There is a strong call for a thorough investigation into the incident, with the Telangana Journalists' Housing Society stating that if a police case is not lodged against Mohan Babu, they will not hesitate to take further action. They have requested the government and the DGP (Director General of Police) to promptly address the attack on the media, emphasizing the need for clear instructions to the concerned Police ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) and the Human Rights Commission to ensure such incidents do not recur.
