Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a significant step towards a "Healthy Uttarakhand" by announcing the effective implementation of the "Eat Right India" campaign, operated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The Chief Minister has directed that this campaign be implemented swiftly, and nodal officers have already been appointed for its execution.

In coordination with public representatives, all secretaries, district magistrates, department heads, and other relevant officials will work together to ensure its success. Furthermore, considering changing lifestyles, the public is being encouraged to reduce the consumption of oil, sugar, and salt.

Under the Chief Minister's directive, the Uttarakhand administration is working diligently to make this campaign successful. So far, the Secretariat premises, Suddhowala Jail, and the Petroleum University have been certified under the "Eat Right" campaign.

Additionally, other universities, colleges, hospitals, medical colleges, and prison premises are being considered for certification as "Eat Right Campuses" and "Eat Right Schools".

The state's Health Secretary, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, has issued guidelines to all educational institutions and departments in this regard.

"Our government is committed to realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. The "Eat Right India" campaign will inspire people to adopt a healthy, safe, and balanced diet to prevent diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and other non-communicable diseases. Youth, teachers, parents, and the general public will be educated about the importance of balanced and nutritious food. This message will also be displayed in restaurants, eateries, and mess halls across the state, ensuring greater awareness about proper nutrition."
