With Kejriwal as the Delhi CM, Anna's Land protest is perfectly-timed
New Delhi, Feb 24: After a year long slumber, Anna is rejuvenated and is back with a roar. Now that his estranged Jan Lok Pal Bill protest scout turned Delhi CM-Arvind Kejriwal-held his hand, he has nothing to fear.
Let us reel back a little, before Kejriwal's first tenure as the Chief Minister of Delhi. While Kejriwal was surrounded by controversies and speculations, while he was criticized for his incessant 'dharnas' and protests, Anna was found saying,"only dharnas would not help. Arvind has lost his aim".
A strategy?
Call it perfect timing, the very so-called dark horse of the Anna gang is now the CM and has decided to join Anna Hazare in his protests against the Land Acquisition Ordinance.
Incidentally, Anna did mention that party leaders and workers should not be spotted on the stage of the protest as this would politicize the entire issue.
Be it for the sake of old times, Hazare will have Kejriwal's support, which in turn will bring a new force into the protests.
But does Hazare have any political aspirations? Difficult to say, but after the Kiran Bedi twist in Indian politics, it would not be a surprise if we saw Anna wearing the AAP hat.
Anna's gang
Anna Hazare's protest against the Land Acquisition Bill has reached a different level, similar to his Jan Lokpal Bill, especially with some of the biggest names in Indian names joining him.
While we know of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, there are others like Vaiko and Medha Patkar who too have joined in protesting the ordinance.
