Meerut riot
It seems law and order has completely gone for a toss in Samajwadi party ruled Uttar Pradesh. Barely a day passes when there is no untoward incidents comes into light right from communal clashes to rape cases. Close on the heels of the Saharanpur riots where three people had died, now Meerut city is on the verge of communal clash. The reason of this new communal flare up is abduction, gang-rape and forcible conversion of a Hindu teacher by Madarassa's maulvis. Report says, that there was no fallopian tubes found in victim's body and that has even been confirmed by doctor.

Why no Media outcry?
Though people have clear idea why ‘Maulana' Mulayam led SP never acts quickly on such matter but big question is why mainstream Media maintains hush-hush approach over this sensitive issue?
Is Media responsibility limited only to going gaga over trivial issue like Sania Mirja being made brand ambassador of Telangana and a fasting Muslim guy being forcibly stuffed roti in his mouth by Shiv Sainks?
Far from raising any outcry over the issue, mainstream newspapers or that matter television channels have barely highlighted this barbaric act against Hindu girl.

What has happened?
As per reports, tension gripped western Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday after a mob belonging to a particular community came out on the roads in Kharkhauda area. They were protesting against an alleged attempt to convert religion of a young madrasa teacher, who was allegedly gangraped by assaulters.
Superintendent of Police (rural) Captain M S Begh said that a complaint against Village Pradhan Nawab Khan, cleric Sallaullah and his wife for abduction and rape had been registered by the father of 20-year-old woman. The allegation is that Nawab along with five others raped the woman in Madrassa after abducting her on July 23. Begh said that she was also forced to sign some papers regarding the religion conversion.

No law and order in UP
Recently, violent clashes erupted in Saharanpur killing three men and injuring over 24 others when two groups clashed over a patch of disputed land adjoining a gurdwara close to the city's railway station. Rioting began when a group of people gathered outside the gurdwara and started pelting stones. Several shops were belonging to Sikhs were looted and burnt.

According to an Indian Express report, over 600 communal riots have taken place in UP since Lok Sabha result. According to Outlook data, during Akhilesh rule, a total of 23,569 incidents of crimes against women took place. A total of 1,951 rape cases are reported with around 10 rapes happening every day. Total 5,676 riots incident took place and that seriously raises questions about Akhilesh's administrative skills.

Media, which is considered third pillar of Democracy, must highlight the real issue. They should not make difference on the basis of religion. Humanity is placed above all religion and it's responsibility of Media to highlight the cases where Humanity is being threatened upon.
