Post Trump's victory in the US Presidential elections on November 8, 2016, social media was flooded with apprehensions pertaining to the future of USA in the hands of a businessman.

In fact, Twitteratti and other social media platforms have been invoking Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian clairvoyant who is said to have predicted that Barack Obama will be the last president of the US.

She also seems to have predicted that the 44th US President (read Barack Obama) will leave the country amid economic ruins and that there would be a divide between the northern and the southern states, akin to the American Civil War.

Much to the horror of the world and some sections of the United States, this year's elections seem to have proved her right.

But let's be optimistic, as Donald Trump has shown moments of hope in his career as a businessman and as a human being. Here are a few reasons for Americans to joy:

1. In August 2015, Trump hit the headlines when his private jet reportedly ferried a 3-year old critically ill Jewish boy from Los Angeles to New York for medical treatment after commercial airlines declined to carry the boy as he needed special assistance on board. The parents contacted Trump and sought his help and he immediately relented and made his private jet available for the special trip.

5. According to an article by WSJ, Donald Trump had fought a legal battle against racism when he had purchased the famous Mar-a-Largo estate, built in the 1920s by Post Cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post.

The story relates to an incident in 1997 when other club owners in the area complained that the estate allowed Jews and African-Americans, which was against the town's upscale image. Trump filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Palm Beach, alleging that the town was discriminating against Mar-a-Lago, in part because it is open to Jews and African-Americans. The suit seeks $100 million in damages.
