Hyderabad, July 5: If he has his way, he would not let anyone in this world go to bed with an empty stomach.
Every night, a Hyderabad man and his teammates without fail visit a city bridge with food packets laden in their bikes to distribute them to the poor people.
Hyder Moosvi has been addressing the issue of hunger and poverty in his own noble way since last year daily. Moosvi and his team members distribute free food packets to at least 100 underprivileged people, who wait for them at Dabeerpura bridge, on a daily basis.
Moosvi started serving food to poor in 2015. However, at that time he was satiating the hunger of poor people eight to ten times in a month. Looking at the need for food among poor who don't get to eat even one meal a day, Moosvi decided to make it a daily ritual.
The do-gooder spends at least Rs 1.2 lakh per month to provide food to people. For each packet daily, the cost comes around Rs 40.
"We started food distribution in 2015, but at that time we use to distribute eight to ten times in a month. From March 31, 2017, we started distributing food daily at Dabeerpura bridge. People who can't afford food come here from various places, stand in line and take food packets," Moosvi told ANI.
Talking about finances to carry forward their noble mission, Moosvi added that if the team falls short of funds, a member from within the team itself pitches money to cover up the shortfall. "We are really happy to serve food to those in need," he told ANI.
Looking at the calm faces of people waiting for Moosvi and his friends at the bridge every night is a testimony that good people do exist and they bring food for hungry ones.
