Manjhi recommends dissolution of Bihar Assembly

In a cabinet meeting called by Manjhi, on Saturday, Nitish Kumar's protege recommended the dissolution of Bihar Assembly.

Now, the ball is in Governor's court

After CM recommended the dissolution of the Assembly the final decision over the same will be taken by Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi. The Governor can either accept Manjhi's recommendation or ask Nitish Kumar to come and show his strength on the floor of the House.

What is Nitish Kumar saying?

The ugly politics played by BJP had never before been witnessed in Bihar. People had been expressing their views on the need for work in Bihar.

What are Nitish Kumar's supporters saying?

Senior JD(U) leader KC Tyagi criticised Jitan Manjhi and said the CM is himself responsible for his downfall. Tyagi further said that as soon as Manjhi vacates the CM's post, other posts will be automatically vacated too. He even exuded with confidence that Nitish will once again become Bihar's CM.

Manjhi calls Nitish "Bhishma Pitamah"

Taking a dig at Nitish Kumar, Manjhi termed his predecessor as "Bhishma Pitamah", on Friday, who was silently watching attempts to oust a Dalit CM. He wondered what exactly went wrong that Nitish stopped conversation with him.

Manjhi met his mentor Nitish Kumar at his residence in Patna amid reports of an effort to patch up relations between the two leaders. Sharad Yadav was also present at Nitish's residence during the meet.

Earlier in the day, party president Sharad Yadav called a JD(U) Legislative Party meeting.

Later, Nitish was chosen JD(U)'s Legislative Party leader which once again clears his way to becoming Bihar's Chief Minister again.

What is BJP saying?

Distancing itself from the power tussle in the state BJP's Shahnawaz Hussain termed it as JD(U)'s internal problem.

"Nitishji is responsible for political crisis in Bihar, he ended alliance with BJP, vouched for Manjhi ji and now insulting him," said Hussain.
