Bengali's favorite festival Durga Puja has come to an end and as they say Bengalis never have it simple, this end too came with a bang.

Conch shells, dhaki or drums and the Uluations echoed as Ma Durga was adorned with Sindoor before she started her journey back home. Sindoor Khela or playing with Sindoor is an integral part of the last day of the festival followed by exchanging sweets and wishing each other 'Shubho Bijoya'.

The day of Vijayadashami had arrived and the country observed it with mixed feelings- sad as it has to wait for another year for the next pujo and happy as it marked a new beginning of hope and prosperity.
