New Delhi, May 19: Celebrations erupted among supporters after assembly elections 2016 results started pouring in. The verdict brought cheer for BJP, AIADMK and TMC while Congress faced humiliating in the elections.

BJP set to form government in Assam, the first in north-east states while West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have chosen to retain their powerful women chief ministers Mamata Banerjee and J Jayalalithaa.

The grand old party continued to be a looser on the political map.
