New Delhi, May 16: In his victory speech in Vadodara, Narendra Modi gives the credit to the people of his country for his historic win. The 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas' slogan echoed in every inch of the city and so was the crowd that went berserk at the sight of the leader.

True, Modi's victory can be credited to the people of the country, but we cannot forget the contribution of a few who have dedicated themselves to the cause of his victory.

Mother: Heeraben, Narendra Modi's 98+ year old mother, was a constant pillar of support for Modi. He has been found giving her references in his rallies while re-living his past. Answering to Congress's 'Chaiwala' jibe, the leader revealed how his mother worked in the neighbouring households to grow him up and the struggles that he had to endure to reach to the top.

No doubt that he had to seek her blessings when the Lok Sabha election results were gradually trailing through the day.

Amit Shah: His strongman and right hand, he is the youngest one to be Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Gujarat government under Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The campaign manager of the Lok Sabha election 2014, he was given an unprecedented 10 portfolio.

In December 2002, he was re-elected in his own assembly seat Sarkhej by a staggering margin of 158,000 votes. Again in 2007, he bettered his performance by winning by 235,000 votes. He has been re-elected four consecutive times. It is claimed that of the 28 elections, to the state Assembly and various local bodies that he has fought since 1989, he has not lost a single one.

He is regarded to be a shrewd tactician, and has been termed a "modern-day Chanakya and master strategist". His campaign management in UP in 2014 has drawn wide attention. His masterstroke as a strategician and a poll manager was shown in in UP polls.

When party workers were leaving BJP to join other parties at the grassroot level, the BJP was in total disarray at village and booth levels. With the vacuum leaving a gaping hole in the party and not even enough workers to pull out the committed voters to the polling booths, Shah reconstituted all the committees in the State with precise caste representation to affect a semblance of balance.Booth committees are the backbone of BJP's electoral politics unlike in Congress where personal charisma matters more than ground level organisation.

Rajnath Singh: A true loyalist of Narendra Modi, he held the reigns of the party in his hand when the party had lost its strategist Pramod Mahajan and LK Advani resigned. He sought to rebuild the party by focussing on the most basic ideologies of Hindutva. When the entire party starting NItin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi were against him as the PM, Singh stood by Modi.
