Online donation campaigns prove that our hands are full

Hollywood actor and comedian Jack Black's campaign for homeless children in Uganda may have ripped us apart. But, this is just one case in point as international organizations are launching innumerable such campaigns for many other causes across the world.

Evidently, we really have a handful to worry about.

Amid political and socio-economic chaos, we forget the plight of many other people who do not have the basic necessities to survive.

A look at the categories of the projects that GlobalGiving is working on is proof of the same. Apart from division by countries, there are sub sections that deal with education, children, women and girls, health and economic development.

Celebrity endeavors

Needless to say, we know all the good work that some of the Hollywood celebrities have been doing. Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, Richard Gere, Blake Shelton and many more have given their support and love for various projects across the world.

While there are projects to help in their school, more is needed to help them.

Appealing for donation for varied reasons ranging from workers in the mines to education for the street children in Uganda, all these campaigns want is a little help and a diversion of attention from the political hullabaloo and social vendetta.
